Blogger Love Linkup Project 52

44.52 + a little love.

November 21, 2014
I am pretty far behind on my Project 52 | Weekly Walk but I do have a few things to say about that. For one, do you all know how cold it’s been in Chicago recently?! My walks went from 4-6 days a week to… NOPE. None. Well, I am counting the mile walk from the train to the office two days a week (when it’s this cold, you’ll count anything for exercise), but I’ll tell you right now- it hasn’t been as enjoyable as my leisurely walks around my neighborhood when the temp was 70 degrees.
I did snap a picture on my walk into work one day last week and wanted to share it today. Please note just a few things, mkay? First: the construction. There is always, always, always construction in Chicago. Always. Second: the darkness, even at 8:15am. No really, where did the sun go? And lastly: the cold. Aside from the clearly stated 33 degrees, can’t you just feel it from this picture? Oh, Chicago. There is no place like you.

Somehow, someway I was able to BEGIN to catch up on my blog reading this past week and saved a few I knew I wanted to share today for Meagan’s Blogger Love linkup! Here were a few of my favorites…

  • Kelly from Southern Komfort shared a post on Monday titled “Following the Sound of His Voice” and it really touched my heart. We are so blessed to have a God who welcomes us with open arms again and again and again.
  • Libby’s post “Things You Just Wouldn’t Understand” at Health, Love & Fire had me nodding my head and laughing. As bloggers, we’ve all “been there,” trying to explain to other people what we do and why we do it, why we’re always taking pictures of food or feet or coffee cups… and where you actually go when you hang out on someone’s sidebar. (haha!)

Hey, did you guys see the super cute Vlog yesterday of Catherine from A Short Blonde? It’s only about 3 minutes long – check it out and then go over and say hello 🙂

Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend! I’ll be sharing more of my catch-up Project 52 pictures in the next few days, and of course I’ll see you all on Monday for a Grateful Heart linkup! xoxo

  • Cold or not, I still want to visit Chicago one day. I bet Tennessee will feel downright humid in the winter compared to what you've been used to!

Only a few hours away from you! Just looking at your picture makes me cold. This weather has been cRaZy! Like Jan./Feb. weather!! I don't blame you for counting your exercise like that 🙂 I teach and try not to sit, as much as possible, while I am at work, to count that, because it is hard to escape to run or walk somewhere else. Great reminders. Have a wonderful weekend 🙂

  • your 8:15 looks like my 6:30! what the heck??? That picture just looks cold. looking forward to the south yet? lol! Can't wait to see your catch up project 52 pics!

  • I love your posts, Kelly! And I know I have a lot more to catch up on too!

  • Oh Nina I wish we could! We're actually moving a lot sooner now so I'm afraid I don't have any free evenings! 🙁 Maybe when I'm back visiting or if you're ever in Nashville!

  • It certainly does! 🙂 Glad we understand it!

  • It was a particularly dark day.. the rest of the mornings haven't been so drab, thank goodness!

  • I hope you visit too! The summers here are AMAZING. (haha! TN will totally feel hot!) 😉

  • It has TOTALLY felt like Jan/Feb weather! In the winter, as cold as it is, I do try to park a little farther away or take the stairs.. just because I feel so lazy all other times this time of year! 😉

  • I know!!! That day was SO weird… most days it's lighter by that time but it was so dark that morning I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone or something!

  • I bet it's SO beautiful where you are… all the time, every day!! 🙂 I always love looking at your pictures… it's like a nice getaway. I would *LOVE* to visit some day! 🙂

  • Yes yes and yes to the Chicago thing. I should move south with you 🙂 Thanks for linking up, hope you had a great weekend!

  • You SHOULD move south with me! 😉

  • It looks a lot like parts of NYC in the winter there – brrrr! Although 33 felt like a heat wave after the 16 degree days we had during the snow, ugh. I forgot how to drive in the snow!! Have to relearn all that.
The vlog was so cute!! I love Catherine 🙂

  • How much snow are you getting?!!? The pictures of Buffalo are insane! Snow storms are exciting, to me at least, as long as you don't have to go anywhere 😉

  • Not any at the moment – it was 65 today so it is long gone! Strangest weather….seriously. We had a foot+ not 3 days ago!! Parts of Buffalo were insane to be sure.
