A Day of Rest.

May 25, 2014

“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” – John 14:1-4

Today we lay my Grandpa to rest in the ground, but I take comfort in knowing that he’s not there. I celebrate that. He won’t be where his body lay. He’s already found the greatest rest, in the arms of Jesus. God has beautiful ways of reminding us that He’s near. That there’s hope. That those we’ve lost here on Earth are safe, with Him. This was the sky God blessed me with yesterday after the Calling for my Grandpa. I’d like to think my Grandpa was up there, telling God, “Throw in some purple. She loves purple.”

Wishing you all a very beautiful Sunday, filled with all your favorite colors.

  • Your Family is in my prayers, it is hard losing a grandparent. It is hard losing anyone really. I am glad your grandfather knew the Lord and you will see him again. May today be a time to reflect on his life, and celebrate the life he lived and the effect he had on your life.
    Many blessings,
