I don’t know what it is, but anytime I’m on a boat and out on the water, I feel like royalty. (I also kick myself for not having made friends yet with someone who has a boat and can charter me around all summer.) (I also always think of the song “I’m On A Boat” which then, of course, makes me think of Michael Bolton as Jack Sparrow.) (I mean, RIGHT?!)
But where was I. Oh yes, so on Thursday, I grabbed my girl friend Paloma and we spent the morning with the Illinois Lottery peeps for the Anything’s Possible Music Series “Floating Concert” event. In other words, you guys, we spent the morning boating through the canals of Chicago, waving to all of the
suckers people downtown on their lunch breaks, and rocking out with a local band, 28 Days. I may have wanted to cry when it was over.
We could not have asked for a better weather day – it was GORGEOUS. Summers in Chicago are the absolute BEST (and are basically why we all still live here.)
The band was so good and so much fun. Music makes everything better, doesn’t it?
Oh, and good people. Good people always make it better too 😉
Part Two of this awesomeness happens tonight at the JOURNEY concert. (And you all know how I feel about 80s music.) (DON’T YOU EVER STOP BELIEVIN’!) Check back Tuesday for my recap!
