Wearing // purple polish on my ring finger, in support of #PutTheNailInIt to bring awareness to domestic violence. Whether you have been directly affected by domestic violence or not, it IS something that should matter to you. 1 in 4 women will be a victim of domestic violence in their lifetime. ONE IN FOUR. 1 in 7 women will be stalked by an intimate partner during their lifetime to the point in which they feel very fearful or believed that they would be harmed or killed. Can I tell you guys something? I am one of those seven. But just because that time in my life has since passed (thank you, Jesus), it still continues for many others. We can’t just look the other way. We can’t NOT talk about it. I painted my nail over the weekend and have already had multiple people ask me what it was all about. Yes, let’s donate where we can but more so LET’S TALK ABOUT IT. You can find out more info & donate at putthenailinit.com
Looking forward to // FALL! Yeah, I’m jumping on that bandwagon and anxiously awaiting cooler weather – temps that require layers and boots and scarves. I’m looking forward to for PSL’s and pumpkin hunting and crockpot cooking 😉 I’m also looking forward to the creative burst I tend to get when the weather changes. I’m SO ready for that.

Laughing at // the latest vlog I did with Christian. It was such a spontaneous thing, to bring him on, but we had so much fun that I think we’re going to turn this into a reoccurring thing 😉 (By the way, I CAN finally taste the cotton candy in the grapes. It’s a crazy, crazy thing and I’m loving Rebecca’s idea of turning it into cotton candy wine.)

Reading // I just finished reading Life is Beautiful by Sarah M Johnson. I’d been asked to read and review this book by Sarah’s publisher and after reading the title and a small preview, I was really looking forward to sitting down with it. My goodness, this woman – Sarah – and her family went through so, so much together – I just absolutely cannot imagine. While I found it incredibly difficult to get though personally, learning about other people and their life’s stories has always been important to me. I may not have connected to this book in the ways I thought I would, but I’m thankful to have learned more about parts of Sarah’s story, as well as her family’s.

If you are interested in learning about Sarah’s journey, Life is Beautiful is now available to purchase on Amazon

Listening to // Jack Garratt. Yep, still obsessed. I think he’ll forever be in my top 10 favorite artists. I saw him live here in Nashville earlier this month at a teeny tiny venue and seriously had to pick my jaw (and body) up off the floor – he was AMAZING. I was first introduced to him via Spotify, quickly bought all of his songs and then a ticket to his completely random show in TN (he lives in England), and told Christian on my way to the show that I had a feeling Jack would be one of those artists who I prefer live. Do you have favorite singers that just seem to sound better live than through your computer speakers? I definitely prefer Jack Garratt live – he blew me away. Here’s one of my favorites of his, Water. You can also check out more of his songs here.

Writing // my novel. YES. I am finally back to it and it feels completely terrifying and SO great, all at the same time. It meant saying goodbye to some things I really, really enjoyed but sometimes you have to carve out time for your dreams. There are so many fun things to be a part of in this life but the truth is- we simply don’t have time to do them all, at least not at the same time. While I was sad to leave some of those other things, I’m excited knowing I’m putting more of my energy into one of my biggest dreams.

Encouraged by // All of these things 🙂

Wanting // to get the call from our agency that ultimately leads us to our baby 🙂 We pray every night for our birth mother and for our baby and I remind God that while I trust in His timing, I sure hope it’s soon 😉
Grateful for // my life. My life as the living, blessed gift from Jesus that it is… knowing that even without all of these things listed above in this post, I would still have a beautiful life because He has made it so simply by giving me breath each day. And that is what I must always remember 🙂
