Conversations w/ my Husband: Speaking Mermaid.

June 28, 2016

CWMH Mermaid

X:  “Can you wake me up tomorrow?”

Em:  “Yeah, what time?”

X:  “Finskie.”

Em:  “What?”

X:  “Fin.”

Em:  “I’m sorry, I don’t speak mermaid.”

X:  “What are you talking about?”

Em:  “Fin?”

X:  “You’ve never heard of a fin?”

Em:  “Yeah. On a mermaid.”

**Update 6/30 – Apparently I wasn’t the only one who had NO IDEA what “fin” meant – thank you! Looking forward to sharing that bit of info with Christian, which proves he’s the only one who still talks that way 😉 haha! (Fin is slang for “five”… OR SO I’M TOLD.)

  • Hahaha. Was he half sleeping when he said that?? Now I’m curious about what time he really did want to be woken up at!

    • It’s actually a real thing! It means 5 (although I think it refers to a $5 bill but he was asking to be woken up at 5am) 😉 haha!

  • Haha this is hilarious!

  • hahahahahaha omg. I would have said the same thing you did!

  • Okay, but what did he really mean to say??

    • Apparently I’m not the only one not “down” with the lingo – Fin means five! Now we both know, Christine! haha!

      • Oh geez…I feel out of touch. HA!

        • I mean… I was right there with you ha! I always think he’s making up words or phrases and he’s always right!

  • OH I totally love you! Thank you so much for making my long, hot, 6:30 hour 🙂

  • Hahahaha this is great! I had no idea what ‘fin’ was either.

  • Ok….I’m a bit confused still (amused and confused). What the heck is fin??

    • SEE?!?! I KNOW!! I can’t wait to tell him that 90% of my blogger friends didn’t know what it was either. Apparently it’s slang (?) for a five dollar bill… so he was asking me to wake him up at 5am.

  • LOL! But what does he really mean?

    • Oh girl – I’m learning that MOST of us don’t know what fin means and I’m so relieved I’m not alone on this haha! Fin = $5 so he meant 5am.
