EG Interviews: Because I Said So

June 9, 2015
I love doing these interviews and then sharing them with you all – it’s such a fun way to be introduced to other bloggers. Today, I’m excited to introduce you to Allison from Because I Said So. Aside from the fact that this gal can rock a tulle skirt like no one has ever rocked one before, not to mention the fact that her Instagram is one of the most colorful and happy IG accounts ever – Allison really is a sweetheart.  And I think some of you might be able to relate to her story at the end about her dog and making up voices (eh hem, Amanda? Cassie? ha!)

EG: Tell us more about yourself and your blog.
A:  Hi, my name is Allison and I’m a twenty something living in New Orleans, LA. I write Because I Said So as a creative outlet (who doesn’t) and to inspire. It’s basically my life according to me– with little sassy tidbits thrown in here and there. I’d label it “Lifestyle” but I blog about Fashion, Dogs (Laney, my dog-child), How To, Recipes, and Weddings (my job).
EG: What is your dream job?
A:  My dream job would be anything social media and I’d actually love to work at a wedding dress boutique. I love weddings! I’d also love to work for the Levo League!

EG: What does a typical ‘day in the life of Allison’ look like?
A:  A typical day includes LOTS of caffeine! I work 9-5 and then go work out for an hour or two. After that it’s home to unwind and catch up on blogging and TV for the night. I never go to sleep without my Lavender Oil!

EG: Who inspires you?
A:  I have a few people who inspire me: Bloggers, Katey McFarlan, Alyson Haley, and Carly from the College Prepster. The boyfriend, Joshua, also inspires me to be my best self and pushes me to be the best and do the best I can in everything.

EG: Where did you meet your best friend and what makes him/her your bff?
A:  I have a few bffs. I met both of them in college through my sorority. We were all thrown together for a sisterhood retreat and became fast friends after that. I don’t know what I would do without the both of them. Josh, my bf, is someone I’d count as my bff too. We’ve been together for almost 6 1/2 years so far, so it’s like- how could he not be my best friend?

EG: Tell us about one of your most favorite weddings you ever planned.
A:  My FAVORITE wedding was probably my cousin’s wedding in Maine. I helped plan it remotely and had no real idea of what I’d be getting myself into! It was the most perfect rustic wedding complete with a food truck. It really tested my ability to command attention to a giant room of older people. Everyone was really cooperative, though, and I know my cousin and his wife appreciated it x1000.
EG: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

A:  Probably most of the things my dad says: I just can’t remember any of it!

EG: Who is your spirit animal?
A:  My spirit animal? Uh. I guess i can identify with Laney, my dog child. Think Kronk from the Emperor’s New Groove — especially the part where he’s humming his own theme song. Laney is so goofy- me and Josh actually made up a voice for her and have been known to carry on a whole conversation as if she’s the one talking, haha (I can’t believe I just admitted that!)
