conversations w/ my husband EG Interviews the Guy Behind the Blog x

EG Interviews: Mr. Cullen (2)

March 5, 2015

I’m back with another edition of The Guy Behind the Blog, aka: my husband 😉 I must warn you all… when I asked him these questions last night, he was in rare form. (Aka: He was totally normal = crazy like always.) He was somewhat joking while answering some questions and completely serious while answering others. To those of you who know him in real life, let’s see if you can figure out which ones he was serious about. Thanks to Betsy from Heavens to Betsy for the questions and linkup!

If you could write a book, what topic would you write about and why?
X: I would write a book on 80’s pop culture because it is often misunderstood… yet fun.
Em: How is it misunderstood?
X: People think the 80’s were what people dress up nowadays for Halloween. Like when you see 80’s costumes, it’s not right.

What is one thing on your bucket list, or one thing that you’d like to do or accomplish in your lifetime?
X: I’d like to play live on Conan O’Brien or Jimmy Fallon.

If you could look out your window and only see one view for the rest of your life, what would you want to see?
X: Maui.
Em: Does that mean we’re moving there?
X: No.
Em: How would you see it out your window then?
X: I’d paint my fence to look like Maui.
Em: If you did that, you know we’d be ‘that house’ in our neighborhood.
X: Yeah we’d be the RHB. Real Hillbillies…. of Nashville.

Imagine you’re opening a shop. What are you selling?
X: Assorted candies.
Em: Seriously?
X: And Pacman memorabilia.
Em: I feel like I married someone from Big Bang Theory.

If you could have 50lbs of anything, other than money, what would it be?
X: Tollhouse Cookies.
Em: I thought for sure you’d say hot sauce.
X: Or root beer barrels.

Time to brag on your girl… tell us one thing that makes you proud of your wife.
X: She’s brilliantly talented and the most beautiful person you’ve ever met. She is funny as all get out.
Em: Aww. Thanks, babe.
X: And she loves watching Cops.
Em: This is true.
And as a bonus, I’m including the latest Conversations with my Husband. I’d like to title this one: All of these things are not like the other.
Christian walks into the room while I’m watching a movie…
X: “Is this Moulin Rouge?”
Em: “No, this is Mulan.”
X: “Isn’t that a cookie?”
Em: “Babe, no. That’s a Milano.”
X: “Isn’t that the girl from Who’s The Boss?”
Em: “No, this- no. Okay, that’s Alyssa Milano. None of these things you’ve mentioned are related, okay?”
X: “But why?”

  • Oh my gosh, I just have to say that my husband and I talk about moving to Maui all.the.time. I wish it was more do-able because it's such an amazing place. And, I also have watched my fair share of Cops, haha. I like watching Alaska State Troopers too. It's like Cops but in Alaska and they catch people for stealing dog sleds and other Alaska-ish things, lol.

  • LOVE Maui!! We had our honeymoon there 🙂 And I'm laughing over here about your Alaska State Troopers description haha!! I watched it ONCE and when they arrested someone for killing a moose (or something?) I had to turn it, I was so sad about the dead animal. In other words, I wouldn't last 2 seconds in Alaska haha!!

  • Lots of fun 🙂 We're lucky we accomplish anything, we're easily distracted and entertained haha!

  • He has a point, right?! 😉

  • I LOVE watching Cops. It's my guilty pleasure (now revealed) haha 😉

  • I was so exhausted by the end of it, haha!

  • So funny, right?! We'll fit in so well! 😉

  • 😉 I love the "old" Disney movies and hadn't seen Mulan before. It was so sweet!

  • oh girl. He is like the biggest 80s fan I know. We have an arcade (that he built) that has literally thousands of games, mostly from the 80s. Pacman is our fave! 🙂

  • Sounds good to me too!! 😉

  • Never a dull moment over here! 😉

  • Bazinga haha!!! (I do love me some Big Bang.) He is seriously a riot.

  • whaaaat?!?! hadn't seen it before?!? glad that's fixed! what else do we need to educate you on for movies???

  • My husband would totally take 50 lbs of hot sauce. I can never seem to have enough stocked.

  • I know. It's been a big year for me, what with seeing Frozen and now Mulan. I'm basically 5.

  • Awww, that is so sweet! I love how you guys work as a team on your blog. Now I wonder what my husband will say if I ask him the same questions =)

  • Oh yeah, I actually think I know the episode that you're talking about and I changed the channel on that one too. I don't like it when they show that kind of stuff either. But I do enjoy seeing what "real" life looks like in Alaska (like the neighborhoods and cities, etc.). I've always had an interest in Alaska and I'd like to visit someday, but I don't think I could actually live there long term. It's just so far away and I don't think I could handle all of the darkness in the winter!

  • He's been stopping by about once a month for this linkup 😉 It's fun to do together!

  • ha! We always have a lot in our pantry/fridge too. I have to say I'm a big partaker in that one though – he totally hooked me on the hot sauce when we started dating!

  • I would love to visit too! My parents went on an Alaskan cruise years ago and said it was so, so beautiful. (Some of my favorite blogs are of the gals living in Alaska!)

  • Jae

IDK much about the 80s; I'm a 90s kid! Hahaha! You, guys! Are you looking forward to the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight already?!

  • I love these conversations. He is a riot. I would LOVE to see him on either of those shows. Now I know I have never heard him play before but based on his sense of humor I think he would get along just fine with those guys!

  • Hahahahaha oh my God, he's so funny! My husband was not too excited when I asked him the questions for the link-up. Maybe he'll do better next month. LOL

    Love, Dara

I think you should fight for the Maui thing! 🙂

  • I would totally read that book on 80's pop culture!

  • Such great answers, not to mention that conversation is hilarious!

  • Right?! I'm thinking we could make bank on that idea!! 😉

  • Whatcha gonna do? whatcha gonna do when they come for you?!? I love you guys. And when he plays for Fallon…like the only white guy in the band…awesome…I want to be there!

  • haha! "like the only white guy in the band" – totally. Would be so cool!!

  • Could you guys be any more perfect together….haha…the things not like the other..so funny!

  • aw!! 🙂 We have our days just like every other couple, of course. But the silliness throughout sure does help give it some extra pep 😉
