Happy Friday, all! I’m spending the day today with one of my favorite people, My Best Gal (she also goes by “Mom”) – she’s visiting for a long weekend and we have all kinds of exciting things planned like watching Big Bang Theory reruns and Matthew McConaughey movies and planking for 60 seconds in a turtleneck and eating Skittles in our pjs… also, roaming the aisles of antique stores and trying to convince the other person that you came up with the dance moves for Beyonce’s Single Ladies video.
Standing in line to check out when Beyonce’s Single Ladies song comes over the radio…
Mom: “You know, I still remember the Jazzercise routine I did for this all those years ago.”
Em: “This song? Are you sure? This is a fairly new song. This is Beyonce, Mom.”
Mom: “Oh. Hmm. Yeah, but I do remember the dance I did for something that sounds a lot like this song…”
(she then proceeds to wave her hand in the air, doing the dance from Beyonce’s Single Ladies music video)
Em: (dying laughing) “Yes, Mom. That IS the dance that goes with this song but you didn’t come up with it. Beyonce did.”
Mom: “Oh wow. She’s got some good moves.”
And that’s just one conversation out of a million that we had yesterday that gave our abs a workout from laughing so hard. (Or was it the planking?) Never a dull moment when we’re together and I cherish every single blurry and grainy second!
Since we’re out and about again today, most likely getting into more trouble and stealing more dance moves, I thought I’d make this a short one today and link up with Blogger Love to share some of my favorite blog reads from this past week:
- Nelle, from Simply Love blog, shared her literally-born-any-second baby boy’s nursery and SWOON. Sending so many air hugs to this sweet lady and her new, precious family of three!
- Speaking of precious, Are You Ready? by Chelsea from The Girl Who Loved to Write blog had me bawling by the end of this post. (And I mean that in the best way.)
- Seasonal Living by Ashley from Messy Milestones blog. “I don’t want to simply go through each day in order to get to the next. I want to celebrate life as I am living it, not look back on the calendar and wonder what I even did that month.”
Have a great weekend! I’ll see you back here on Monday for the Grateful Heart linkup!
