I am starting my week with a grateful heart and here’s why,
I am so, so grateful for my mom, my very best gal. To say I had the best week with her last week would be an understatement. It was one of those times you know you’ll look back for the rest of your life and always think- that was such a special time. And you will always remember it, and its little moments. She and I did a lot last week, but I can’t tell you that it was all of the things we did that made it so special (although we really did have the best time doing it all). It truly was the random moments that made it the best week with her. The times when our mouths were full of food and one of us would give a look or say something that probably wasn’t that funny, but to us it was, and therefore we both proceeded to practically spit out our food and then continue laughing for long after any normal person would continue to laugh. Or the moment she shared with me her favorite memories of she and her dad – my Grandpa, who might not be able to remember things himself today but he truly does continue to really live each time she recounts precious moments she had with him. And how about the morning I woke up so exhausted – you know when it hurts to even talk or move? And she made me her famous grilled cheese and we sat on the couch together watching movies. (No one takes care of you like Mom.) Or the afternoon we spent an hour just looking thru old photos of she and my dad when they were dating. I simply could not get over how beautiful she was. (She still is.) And there are more moments. Lots of them. That I will just continue to hold close to my heart and remember on days I don’t feel so happy. But today? Today I’m just so grateful that I’m her daughter. That she’s my mom. She’s my best gal. I love her to infinity and back.
