A Grateful Heart (+ weeklong linkup!)

September 29, 2014

Happy Monday, all 🙂   – Wait. I can do so much better than that. –  HAPPY MONDAY, ALL!!!!!! 🙂

If you were expecting a big ol’ recap (I say “ol” because of all my southern influences the past few days – love them) of my amazing time at The Influence Conference, I’m afraid you might be disappointed today! My experience will most likely be shared in this space over the next few months and in multiple posts. I am still processing everything and have no idea how to even start to attempt to take what’s swirling around in my head and my heart and put it into actual words… wow.I can tell you this though, it was exactly what I needed, when I didn’t even know I needed it. I went into the weekend thinking it would teach me how to be a better blogger, when in reality it taught and reminded me how to be a better person for Jesus and in turn, that makes me a better blogger, writer, wife, friend, daughter, sister… everything. And I’m so excited. I feel so rejuvenated, strengthened. I feel inspired, and I’m excited for the new adventures of this space. I’m excited for this day, today. I’m excited to breathe in the fresh air of a new day and to see and learn all of the things He has planned for me to see and learn today.

I’m excited that you’re here with me, choosing gratefulness. It’s way more fun to be grateful with other people, and because of that- I challenge you to ask one person today what they’re grateful for. (And I’m talking about a real live person in your real live life… no one in blogland) (Although we are real and living, I know, but please just go with me here.)

I am grateful for so much today: for this past weekend, for The Influence Conference and for all of the women who so lovingly and with brave spirits shared their stories that truly had such a deep impact on my life. I am grateful for new friends made, and for a clear mind and strengthened spirit. My heart is bursting with thankfulness that I belong to a God who loves me and chooses me every millisecond of every day… just as He did yesterday, just as He does today, and just as it is true that He’ll love me no less tomorrow and the day after that, until the very end of time. And the same is true for you 🙂

  • I would SO love for you to come, Patricia! I think you would love it so, so much. I'm already signed up for next year 🙂

  • I would love to meet you in person as well, I will let you know if I end up going.

  • I was wondering what the influence conference was about. i kept seeing it pop up in my feed. 🙂 indiana next year.. it's so far!!

  • It IS far from you, I know! 🙁 I do know that a couple girls I spoke with found various ways to raise/save money in order to go. I carpooled with two gals from Chicago and drove to Indy, and rooming with others certainly helps! (And the only meals you need to get on your own would be dinner on Fri and Sat, the conference provides breakfast and lunch those days.) I hope you can go next year!!

I've heard nothing but amazing things about the Influence Conference. I really want to attend that one or Hope Spoken. Indianapolis is a little far for me, but I know it would be worth it. Hope Spoken is here in Dallas, but already sold out for 2015. Wow! Maybe some day! And I can't wait to ask someone in real life what they're grateful for. Great challenge!!!

  • I understand! I feel overwhelmed by everything I learned experienced at the Influence Conference too and do not know how to wrap it up nicely into one blog post 🙂 So glad that the Lord brought you to Influence when you needed it. I walked away a different person too. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and I hope the Lord continues to teach you through this season!

  • I've been seeing your Twitter chats with other TPP gals 🙂 We'll see what happens!

  • Oooh! I would love to go to Hope Spoken too (but I'm in the same boat.. it's far for me) One of these days!! 🙂

  • Thank you for this sweet note, Erica! Have you thought about going to the conference again next year? Wishing you a wonderful weekend! 🙂
