In Paris, the Sun Wears a Flower Crown. (A Grateful Heart)

April 20, 2015

We’d heard we would hardly see her, that she wouldn’t be making much of an appearance this time of year, so I did fist pumps into the dark room the night before we left as the weather stated otherwise. Blue skies and sunshine was predicted for our few days in Paris and she most definitely made an appearance… warming our bodies, encouraging us to (gladly) shed all of our layers, forcing us to squint our eyes as she shined her light down over the beautiful architecture, around the statues and through the trees that had just bloomed their sweet flower of His choice. I walked slowly this afternoon, over the gravel – my feet getting dusty and dirty – past the green grass and crΓͺpe stands and carousels, admiring the museums from the outside, my ears taking in all of the chatter around me- only able to pick up familiar french words here and there. A breeze came by often to cool my skin and I looked up just in time to see her reaching down to me as if to say, “Today is a perfect day to wear a flower crown.” Agreed, dear sun. Agreed.

The above is an excerpt from my journal, thoughts written down while in Paris.
Dated: 4/14/15.
Hi, guys! I’m back! πŸ˜‰ It feels like I’ve been gone for well over a month even though it’s only been about a week, and while I’m fairly certain a part of me was left in Paris, it’s still good to be home.
I think it’s a given as to what my heart is feeling grateful for today… my goodness, I am so grateful for both of our travel opportunities this past week, to Italy and Paris. It was the best adventure Christian and I have been on together yet and I can’t believe I get to check off one of my oldest Bucket Life List items: Paris. (Can’t believe it!) I will be recapping both trips in multiple posts this week and early next, so bear with me as I attempt to put all of my scattered thoughts and feelings into actual words, as well as try to choose from the hundreds of pictures that were taken.

Thank you all for being with me here today and this week, choosing to be grateful! I truly love doing this with you!
