We’d heard we would hardly see her, that she wouldn’t be making much of an appearance this time of year, so I did fist pumps into the dark room the night before we left as the weather stated otherwise. Blue skies and sunshine was predicted for our few days in Paris and she most definitely made an appearance… warming our bodies, encouraging us to (gladly) shed all of our layers, forcing us to squint our eyes as she shined her light down over the beautiful architecture, around the statues and through the trees that had just bloomed their sweet flower of His choice. I walked slowly this afternoon, over the gravel – my feet getting dusty and dirty – past the green grass and crêpe stands and carousels, admiring the museums from the outside, my ears taking in all of the chatter around me- only able to pick up familiar french words here and there. A breeze came by often to cool my skin and I looked up just in time to see her reaching down to me as if to say, “Today is a perfect day to wear a flower crown.” Agreed, dear sun. Agreed.
