This is Part Two of my Loxa Beauty Review, My Makeup Style. Loxa Beauty is an ethical online shop where you can get all of your salon products sent straight to your door. And not just any beauty products – we’re talking high-end, best of the best beauty products.
In Part One I shared my celebrity inspiration for my daytime look, so why not keep this train moving right along. My nighttime makeup celebrity is Jennifer Lawrence. I love her looks on the red carpet and would say our nighttime makeup look tends to be very similar in style.
Even though this look is way more makeup than what I wear during the day, it still feels “natural” to me. I’m a big fan of a dark eye with nude lip at night, so my nighttime makeup routine typically looks like this: overall face base, light bronze powder, under eye concealer, liquid eyeliner, pencil eyeliner, 2 shades of eyeshadow, mascara, brow pencil, lipliner, and lipstick.
Here’s what I picked out from Loxa for my nighttime look:
LIPLINER – Sormé Smearproof Lipliner, color: Baby Doll
I really liked this lipliner in both quality and color. I used it to outline my bottom lip only and then put (my own) nude lipstick on both lips. The liner stayed on well throughout the entire night (this includes dinner!) and the color was just enough to help bring out some shape with the nude lipstick. I have really come to love lighter shades of lipliner and will sometimes even forego the lipstick and just use some light liner for color.
EYELINER – Sormé Jet Liner Precision Liquid Eyeliner, color: Slate
This liquid eyeliner was AWESOME. Not only did it stay on throughout the night, but the color was exactly what I’d been looking for. I used it on the top eyelid only and then put (my own) pencil eyeliner on the bottom/under my eye, smudging to blend. Having previously used black liquid eyeliner, I found it was too harsh and cat-eye looking for me so this time, by using the Slate color on the top, with eyeshadow just above it, and my own black pencil liner on the bottom, it was just the balance I wanted.
So what about you guys?? Do your daytime and nighttime makeup routines differ drastically or are they pretty much the same? Are you adventurous when it comes to new products or do you tend to stick with what you know?
