So basically, X and I went flying on Tuesday. I mean, it was the closest thing to flying that I’ve ever done. I’m talkin’ about SKY ZONE, all. Sky Zone is an indoor trampoline park that offers a huge space with nothing but jumping room and lots of options and programs to get your jump on. Christian and I made the short drive to Sky Zone Elmhurst for a morning of jumping fun, which also quickly turned into the best workout ever. (We are still feeling it.) I mean what better way to exercise than by jumping your faces off, right??
I’ll tell ya right now, I was nervous on our way there though. I was worried that this place was really just for kids and that I’d be “that old lady” jumping around with her husband, realizing just how out of shape I am within the first 3 minutes. (That last part may have really happened.) I had this vision of a bunch of 9 year old kids just sitting on the sidelines, watching me jump all over the place, wondering “What is she doing here?” Fortunately, I was wrong. While this place definitely caters to kids, it’s also a super fun escape for adults, too. Plus, I don’t care how old you are- we all just want to feel like a kid sometimes and let loose.
We each got these awesome Sky Zone bracelets just for liking & checking in at Sky Zone Elmhurst on Facebook. (You can also purchase them for $1 if you’re not a FB user.) They also give you these sweet slip-proof orange socks – so, you know, it’s very official and all.
In addition to jumping around on the trampolines, you can also jump into a huge pit filled with 10,000 foam cubes. Or maybe you want to pretend like you’re Michael Jordan – gettin’ major air as you slam dunk a basketball – do it, dude, in Sky Slam. (Enter song I Believe I Can Fly.)
There are LOTS of programs and packages at Sky Zone: birthday/special parties, corporate events (seriously awesome – I would have loved to have seen my boss jump around, ha!), and Ultimate Dodgeball. Another amazing option: A one-hour fitness class called Sky Fit. You can burn up to 1,000 calories in just an hour, yes seriously. I don’t know about you but I would so much rather jump my little booty off than run for 90 minutes to burn the same amount of calories.
Oh and if you’re thirsty (fella) for something after all of this, just stop by their concession stand and grab an Icee. (They have other options for drink and food, but honestly- why would you not get an Icee??)
I can’t tell you the last time I had so much fun – there were times I had to stop jumping because I was laughing so hard and couldn’t breathe. One of the best parts about the whole thing was that they play music throughout the whole building while you jump – and good music, too. I really could not get over how nice everyone was who worked there. Like, so nice I wanted to take them all home with me.
(I look weird here because Christian prompted us, “Everybody say Sky Zone on the count of three!” Clearly I was the only one who actually did it. Thanks, babe.)
The following is an extremely professional video shot by Christian and edited by yours truly. Prepare to be amazed at our skills.
