I think sometimes things need to be shaken up a bit. While I think it’s good to honor and give thanks for a time of being content (which we feel we’ve had the past 3 years), sometimes God brings new adventures and challenges and people and places into your story so that you can continue to grow. Some chapters need to close in order for others to be opened, and I can’t help but smile when I think of the new experiences He has in store for us. We are really excited about this next chapter… we’re excited to meet new people, learn new things, explore different daily landscapes, and to bring things down to a bit of a slower pace.
I am SO excited to finally and officially share this news with you all 🙂 Christian and I will be moving to Nashville at the end of this year!! While this has been a little dream in our hearts for some time now, things began to naturally fall into place during our last trip to TN and we feel it is now time for this next adventure.
I think with any move comes the obvious- excitement, but it’s also a bit bittersweet. While we’re very much looking forward to this next chapter, and in a place we both love so much, it’s also hard to say goodbye to people we’re used to seeing on a regular basis here in Chicago… and that is, definitely, the hardest part. We’re no strangers to this… we’ve already had a crazy moving experience in our journey together thus far and while this one will certainly be a shorter move than the one to California, it will no longer be a quick train ride or 5 minute drive to spend time with our loved ones here. Even still, I know and believe that God is with us and blessing this decision and that He will continue to lead us on a path that might glorify Him.
It should be a lot of fun to share this entire process with you guys, as well as some of the details in regards to how this “solidified” – it’s pretty amazing, actually, how God opened and closed doors in a matter of days… all confirmations that we were stepping in the right direction. As the move date gets closer, you can keep up with our moving happenings by following the hashtag on Instagram: #Chi2TN and I’ll occasionally blog about it all too 🙂
Each Wednesday I link up with my sweet friend Anne for Wednesday Wishes. Today I am wishing for hearts to be comforted during this time as we prepare to be farther away from people we’ve lived so close to for a number years. I am wishing that the rest of our time spent in Chicago will be happy days, shared excitement, and filled with all of the awesome Chicago people we love so much. I am wishing for patience (on my end, oh hello!) as we still have a few more months to wait until we’re able to “lock down” a place to live in our new state. And last but not least, I am wishing for some smooth sailing in the “find free/cheap boxes and pack up everything you own – again” department. (GAH!)
So there you go. Deep breaths now. (Oh wait, that’s just for me.) (Does this mean I’ll start saying “y’all” now?!)
