Truth be told, I have always been a fan of the “If you were stranded on a deserted island…” questions. I like asking them and I like answering them. It has the potential to be hilarious, and I feel like you can tell a lot by a person by the answers they choose. So when I noticed the Stranded linkup series hosted by Shay & Erika, I knew I’d just found my new must-join linkup. Even better? This month’s topic is “If you were stranded on a deserted island, who are 3 famous people you’d want with you and why” and hey- THAT IS FUN.
Ready? … Stranded.
I mean, CLEARLY. Is anyone surprised? No, I didn’t think so. If you’re a new reader here, I apologize but you must know that Michael and I go way back. He’s been “the one” since I was about 10 years old, and I don’t mean “the one” like I think he’s hot and want to marry him in my next life or anything – it’s not like that. It’s more like, he is just the ultimate. I would not be kidding when I say I know all of the words to all of his songs and listen to them frequently – especially if I need a little pick-me-up. (Steel Bars for life.) So not only is this an obvious choice for me, but who better to be with me if I’m stranded because 1. He can sing to me every day and night, 2. We can write new songs together (he’d be so excited and the album could be called Emily & Michael, The Not So Lonely Island), and 3. It’s kind of like my dream for us to be best friends and eat chips and salsa together and you know, just talk. Plus, he’s had some experience being on an island.
Because obviously! Being stranded on a deserted island would have the potential to be extremely stressful and downright sad so I would need someone who could make me laugh and someone with a positive attitude. I love Ellen. Not only is she hilarious but I love her heart. I watch her show religiously; I tape it every day and then watch it before I go to bed because it always ends my day on a positive note. She’s incredibly inspiring and I’m thinking could certainly make a ‘bad’ situation doable. Plus, she’s had some experience getting lost and then found.
Guys I know. Everyone is sick of hearing me talk about Joan but someone is going to need to write “the real story” of what happened while the four of us are trapped on this island and who better to do that than Joan. Plus, that woman has so many real life stories that I have enjoyed reading about, but to have her tell me in person would be the absolute best. And then to have the opportunity to ask her #allofthequestions – about life, love, words, and the world – you know, everything she hasn’t already shared in print but would most definitely share with me in person because, well, we’re stranded and who else is she going to share them with? Certainly not Michael. #JoanForever
I would say that these are in no particular order but let’s be real, Michael Bolton will always come first in my life. (Other close contenders for this list were: Daniel Craig, Thor – no not Chris Hemsworth but actually Thor himself, and Kristen Bell.)
Who would your three famous people be??
