Happy Monday, all! Did everyone have a nice weekend? Oooj kept me quite busy yesterday for Mother’s Day… he’s thoughtful like that. What is it about dogs rolling in everything and anything that’s gross and smelly? I just don’t even want to know. I bathed him with rubber gloves and had to stop every so often to gag.
Today, I’m really excited to introduce Twelve Months of Bliss, a concept near and dear to my heart and one I can’t wait to do with you guys. Some of you may have seen previous posts (here and here) mentioning a year-long project I did back in June of 2010 called Twelve Months of Bliss. Ironically, at this time I had never even heard of the popular book The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. (Confession: I still haven’t read it, oops! One of these days!) Twelve Months of Bliss was just something I’d originally started for myself – until my friends told me they ‘wanted in’ too – and before I knew it, I had a whole group of people taking part in a year of self-discovery and road to personal happiness with me. It was an incredibly powerful year; it was one of the best years of my life.
Quite a few of you recently mentioned that you wanted to start the challenge yourselves and, since I’d planned on bringing it back one of these days anyway, I decided 2015 was the year to do just that. So here we go!! 🙂
What is Twelve Months of Bliss?
Twelve Months of Bliss is a monthly challenge, lasting one full year, that encourages self-reflection and loving yourself better, as well as random acts of kindness and thoughtfulness for others.
How will this work?
I will update the Twelve Months of Bliss page (found at the top of my blog) with each month’s challenge a few days before the new month begins, and then the rest is up to you! Based on personal experience, to get the most out of each month I recommend giving 100% of yourself to it, as well as journaling your thoughts and reflections throughout each month’s challenge.
Twelve Months of Bliss Community
The Twelve Months of Bliss linkup will happen on the last Wednesday of each month. This will serve as a place where you can share your thoughts of that month’s challenge with others, as well as connect with other TMOBers 😉 You can also grab a Twelve Months of Bliss button (to be located on the Twelve Months of Bliss page as well as on my sidebar) to put on your own sidebar and/or posts. The hashtag dedicated to Twelve Months of Bliss is #12MofBliss
When will this begin?
I am so excited and SO grateful for the opportunity to take part in this fun, encouraging, and positive journey with you guys!
